The Co-op is seeking an amazingly awesome General Manager!

Established in the 1970s, the Co-op has long been a feature of the Cambridge downtown and is ready to grow. With Board, staff and member support, the new GM will play a crucial role in this growth. Candidates must have 2-5 years management experience in a retail food business, preferably a cooperative. They will have strong skills in customer service, marketing, problem solving, communication, financial management and community building.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations; maintain budgets and optimize expenses

  • Set policies and processes

  • Work with staff and Board to engage with the community and grow membership

  • Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally; oversee recruitment and training of new employees and working members

  • Work with bookkeeper to evaluate and improve operations and financial performance

  • Prepare regular reports for management and Board; attend all Board meetings and Committee meetings as needed

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

COMPENSATION: this position is : hourly, $17-20/hr
